Tom McEvoy was once the winner of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event. He was the winner in the year 1983.

In the win, he had won the prize money along with a bracelet. In a surprising move, the once poker star has kept his piece of history of poker at auction on the eBay site.

Tom McEvoy is a great poker player and to give tribute to his game, in 2013, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of poker. This included the bracelet. McEvoy sold that same bracelet on eBay. The auction for bracelet started with the price amount of $13,500 and the bracelet finally got sold at the price of $15,000. He not only sold the bracelet, but many other items were sold along with that at the same time.

Other items that were included for sale are three books on poker that were authored by McEvoy only, two patches of PokerStars Team Pro. In his career, McEvoy PokerStars once sponsored this player and he got the patches at the same time.

In the sale “one hour private poker lesson” was also included that was with McEvoy. McEvoy is a 72-year-old now and he holds four WSOP bracelets. As far as the earning is concerned, then the PokerStars have lifetime earnings of nearly $3 million, in lifetime tournament earnings. He also participated in the main event of 2016 in which he finished at 644th place. For this he earned $18,714. But, the sad part is, McEvoy, had only five cash win since 2010.

Though, McEvoy selling of bracelet has caught the headlines, but he is not the only one who has done so. Many other poker players have done this in the past. Jerry Yang, another great poker player, also sold his event bracelet 2014.
